Klaus Hildner has been working for companies both national and abroad, e. g. for
  • a b2b startup company in Livermore, California,
  • a big blue company in Böblingen, Germany, and
  • an international investment company in Kronberg im Taunus, Germany.

Some of the web sites that he created are listed here as samples.

A3A5.de serves as a German language entry page to one0.com.

Overview:
smartXXL.com | hildner.de | jobstop.biz | k-hi.net| blumentee.de | i24.cn

1 smartXXL.com — smart, eXXtra Large!

smartXXL.com is a nonprofit site.

It contains information about the Mercedes-Benz MB100 van which looks like an oversized MCC Smart. These are mainly images, documentary, travel stories. There is a secured area with further information which is only accessible to registered visitors after having logged in.

The site automatically detects the preferred language of its visitor and tries to offer pre-defined content for these languages or a default which usually is English.
The user may simply override and permanently change this selection by clicking on the corresponding flag icon. The page in question then simply is redisplayed "in situ" in the desired language (if defined).
The menu as the single most important navigational element is internationalized in many languages: German, English, French, Spanish, Dutch (Netherlands), Russian (cyrillic), Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin, simplified) — of which the latter three languages are encoded in internationally unambiguous Unicode.

Graphical rich content binds users from near and far to the site for minutes. Sessions often last considerably more than 15 Minutes during which tens of pages are being requested. Visitors come from all across the world: Europe (e. g. Spain), Asia (e. g. Japan), the Americas (e. g. the Philippines).

Due to the demand smartXXL.com now also offers information on the "Smart XXS". — However, it has been a frequently visited member of the German Smart web ring before.

2 hildner.de — personal perceptions

hildner.de is Klaus Hildner's personal site.

The content covers: Lots of decent and a few less decent photographs as well as philosophical essays that are intended to depict Klaus' view of the world.

If you don't understand these then you can still enjoy a few photographs.

3 jobstop.biz — Your Pitstop for the Job Hunt

The idea of jobstop.biz is: All your resume data online.

As experience shows, a short link to a resume, like jobstop.biz/kh has a high click rate and chance of survival during spontaneous applications via email or verbal contact: The link is short and good to remember, it passes firewalls and spam content filters as it is simple and leightweight, and the target contains all application-relevant information in a comprehensible overview — including all the attachments.

The applicant's advantage is the simple and immediate feedback of his resume having been viewed. This is done by either directly viewing the filtered log files (cgi with grep across the web server log), or sending an email notification in realtime (via php).
In each case, besides other data, a timestamp and the IP address of the requestor are logged.

The name jobstop.biz by coincidence is very similar to the one of the job portal jobstairs.biz of the German industry and service companies.

4 k-hi.net

k-hi.net is a simple site for photo art and photography by Klaus Hildner.

Besides providing information about the artist, a small portfolio is presented and high quality background wallpapers in standard resolutions from 800 x 600 up to 1 600 x 1 200 pixels are offered for free download.

There is a form for a non-committal booking enquiry via which a pre-formalized enquiry can be sent and which reduces the risk of misunderstandings when it will be processed afterwards.

  • language selection:
The page language can be switched "in place", chosing between German und English, i. e. the currently displayed page is reloaded in the desired language, preserving the reading context. (I. e. no navigating back via the menu required.)
  • layout selection:
Layout can be changed independent from language — currently "black" or "white" — with an instant effect.

5 blumentee.de — Simply Tea

The German word "Blumentee" stands for "flower tea". blumentee.de is themed "Simply Tea" and supports Mrs. Jing Lin's tea business.

It uses a simple shopping cart mechanism. Simple means simple: The core routine uses four lines of php code for serializing and deserializing an associative array to and from a cookie and therefore is less impressive than big commercial solutions. You may now think that less code may contain fewer errors. — You may be right.

6 i24.cn — China Info 24/7

i24.cn is an experimental site with daily updated information on China and other Asian countries.

Mainly free RSS newsfeeds are utilized to display news from the economic and financial sector primarily targeted at visitors from an Asia-Pacific region. Besides that there are simple connections to important stock indizes (graphical and textual), daily updated foreign exchange rates as well as a world time clock covering the major cities.

The focus with presentation has been on the comprehensible display — in contrast to those big news sites that often appear flashy and overloaded.
